• Under whose name will my domain be registered?

  The domain will be registered under your name. Personal data you provide, such as address, email and phone will be shown in the public WhoIs database, as required by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers).

  In some cases when your data appears in a Whois query, it can cause issues since it can be used by spammers or other cybercriminals. If you want to protect your privacy and not display your data, don't worry, at DonWeb we offer a Private Registration service that hides your data from prying eyes. It is available for most extensions and you can purchase it during your domain purchase process.

  There are regional domains that are processed through DonWeb by Dattatec, so the contact details of those domains will show DonWeb by Dattatec's information. It should be noted that the owner of those domains is the customer who purchased them, regardless of DonWeb by Dattatec's data appearing in Whois.

• How long will it take to register my domain?

  The domain registration time will depend on the payment method you chose at registration. If you want to have the domain as soon as possible, we recommend paying by credit card.

  Remember that some domains, like .COM, register instantly, while some regional or premium domains may take several hours.

  Once your domain is registered and you have pointed it to a hosting or site, you should wait between 1 and 24 hours until it starts responding to your hosting plan. This is due to the DNS propagation.

• How do I get a domain name?

  You must choose an extension for your domain name. The extension is what is to the right of the dot in an Internet address, for example, .com, .net, .org or .info.

  Use your company or specialty name to place next to the extension, remember that this is how people will find you online.

  Use the search box at the top of this page to search for the domain name you want. If you haven't decided which extension to use, don't worry, don't type any and we will offer you the right one.

  Once you've chosen it, add it to your cart and make the payment. With that you'll have a name on the Internet and no one else will be able to use it.

• What happens when my domain expires?

  To keep the rights to your web domain you must pay the corresponding renewal fee once the registration expiration date arrives.

  When this doesn't happen, the domain enters a suspension period for ten days, during which the registrar removes it from its server and at that point both the site and the email accounts associated with that domain stop working.

  If the domain holder decides to pay the renewal, it is added back to the server and becomes active again until its next expiration. Renewal will only be possible if the domain has not entered the redemption period.

• Why is it important to protect my brand?

  You add entry points: the more domains pointing to your site, the more people can visit you from different access points.
  You protect your brand: by registering your project's or business's name with different extensions, with typos, in plural, in both genders, etc. This way you prevent someone else from doing it and taking your traffic.
  You secure your main domains: If you already have the regional domain registered (.com.ar, .com.mx, .cl), also secure the .com and .net. These are the first options people use when entering a domain they don't fully remember.
  You ensure better positioning in search engines: if you use in the domain the keywords with which customers may search for what you offer.

• What is the cost to restore a domain I forgot to renew?
